benefits for you, to see if acupuncture is a covered service. Please complete the

    Q: Who can help me with insurance questions?

    A: For questions related to insurance or billing, please email billing@pullingdownthemoon.com.


    Q: How much will I be charged for a visit when using my insurance?

    A: Charges are determined by each insurance company.  We submit a claim with the services provided and the conditions treated.  Insurance companies respond with an Explanation of Benefits (EOB), where they list the charge amount, how much the insurance company will pay, and how much the patient’s financial responsibility will be.


    Q: Do you accept HSA and FSA payments?

    A: Do you accept HSA and FSA payments?

    Yes, we accept HSA and FSA payments for acupuncture and other services as allowed by your plan description.


    Q: Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?

    A: Unfortunately, we are not able to accept Medicare or Medicaid at this time.


    Q: Which plans are you in network with?

    A: We are currently in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and United Healthcare for acupuncture services.


    Q: Which plans are you out of network with?

    A: We accept but are out of network with Aetna and Cigna.


    Q: I have an HMO plan.  Do you accept HMO plans?

    A: HMO plans require a referral from your Primary Care Provider. Please check with your Primary Care Provider for referral and coverage information.


    Q: Who do I contact with questions about my charges or amount due?

    Q: How do I get a superbill or documentation for my HSA/FSA account?

    A: To get a superbill or documentation for your HSA/FSA account, please email billing@pullingdownthemoon.com.


    Q: I have an out of network plan. How much will I pay?

    A: For out of network plans, your insurance company will determine the charges for each visit based upon their fee schedules.  We will not know this amount until we submit a claim and receive an Explanation of Benefits in response.


    Q: What conditions are covered by insurance for acupuncture?

    A: This varies by policy, which is determined by your employer and the insurance company. When we verify your insurance benefits for acupuncture services, we ask whether your policy has restrictions or limitations on conditions covered. Two people may both have BCBS, for example, but their individual policies may have different coverage.


    Q: Can my acupuncturist add or change my conditions so that my bill is covered by insurance?

    A: No, the conditions and diagnosis codes are determined by what the acupuncturist documents in your medical record on the day of your appointment. It is important at every visit that you and your acupuncturist discuss the conditions for which you are seeking services. This may not be the same every visit.


    Q: Do you bill insurance for massage services?

    Unfortunately, we cannot bill insurance directly, however we can provide you with a superbill and you can submit a claim yourself. 


    Q: Do you bill insurance for nutrition counseling?

    Yes, we can verify your benefits to see if your policy has coverage for nutritional services.  Please email billing@pullingdownthemoon.com to start this process.

      • Flex Savings and Health Spending Accounts

        Many flex savings (FSA) and health spending accounts (HSA) allow you to purchase services and supplements at the point of service with their provided debit card. This allows for pre-tax savings. Purchasing a package with your account, can allow you to save and help you avoid losing any unused expenditures at the end of the year!  Please check your account before using to comply with any terms of your specific program.  

      • Financing Options

        Be empowered with fertility financing options!  Pulling Down the Moon works with emBorrow, an affordable fertility financing company started by fertility patients. EmBorrow offers financing at rates much lower than your credit card (many times half the cost) and customize payment plans that work for you! They believe in the importance of holistic care and community.

      Pulling Down the Moon patient Kati Deutschle and her husband Sebastian realized through their own journey that there was a hole in the fertility market.
